Stirling Engine Kit – Low Temperature Stirling Engine Model Toy

This low temperature Stirling engine features a unique double flywheel and a square design. For operation, place it on a flat surface and heat for approximately 20 seconds using a flat water cup with an outer diameter less than 88mm filled with boiling water. Rotate the flywheel gently in one direction to initiate the engine.

      This was the second low temperature stirling engine I've bought. This unit cost almost twice what my previous engine cost and the price was reflected in much sturdier construction and smoother operation. The one drawback is the feet on which the base rests. The feet are located at each corner and project about 1 cm below the bottom plate. The feet severely limit the size of cup with which the engine can be used.

      Especially nice looking. Very well made. Ignore the video. Give it at least half a minute before you give the flywheel a spin to start it. The heat has to build up on the bottom plate and that takes a little wile. I was able to get over a half hour run from a mug of boiling water. I ordered 3. One for myself and 2 as gifts. I plan on ordering a few more as gifts.

      Ordered two Stirling Engines that are meant to sit on hot coffee cups and spin to demonstrate a particularly unique conversion of heat difference into mechanical motion, for my son and daughter. Maybe, I errorred when ordering, but one was a more expensive model that was meant to be heated by a flame and had a pulley and propeller blade. Feedback from my son and daughter was that the engines were high quality and well built, interesting and educational. Can't wait to see them for myself. Would purchase other products from this company again.
