It takes a little imagination to assemble.
The product I bought was an early lot, and there were some defects in the two parts, but the service immediately sent me a replacement.
I am very satisfied.
Issue #1: The battery that was sent was bad. Usually the customer service is amazing but I did not hear back (maybe a new one is in the mail but I bought one myself elsewhere).
Issue #2: the rear crankcase cover. It appears that part #031 sits flush to the gear and keeps it from spinning. I had to back out the two part #052 to allow for a gap. Either a shallower female or longer male thread maybe?
Issue #3: the assembly (two of them) composed of part #s 045, 025 and 023 (part of the five star cam drive gear set) is only held in by gravity. They will fall out if you flip the engine over. Not a big deal but you have to unscrew the cover (and the prop if you have it fully assembled). I stuck foam in the cover openings while I was working on the model to hold them in.
Issue #3: The On/off switch does not always work. It’s intermittent. I checked the JST connections and they are solid. Not going to worry about that unless it gets worse.
Overall a fun project. I was in no hurry, so the setbacks didn’t bother me. Engine DIY is a very good organization and I will be building more models from them.
