Operating Principle:

Intake Stroke: Intake valve open, exhaust closed. Piston from TDC to BDC, fuel-air mixture enters cylinder.
Compression Stroke: Both valves closed. Piston from BDC to TDC, compressing fuel-air mixture.
Power Stroke: Piston at TDC, spark plug ignites mixture causing rapid expansion (light bulb illuminates). Mixture expands, pushing piston to BDC.
Exhaust Stroke: Piston rises due to inertia of rotating components. Exhaust valve opens, allowing exhaust gases to exit through exhaust pipe.
