PROS:
- Honestly, everything about the build. It's the same exact build as Unit 00 with a different head, but it's still a great and fun time.
- The posability on this line still exceeds my expectations and it is perfect for the line. Dynamic posing is so easy and it almost always looks fantastic.
- The nice thing about this model is that it comes with an additional weapon (the thunder spear) that the others did not. With this additional accessory, there are even more posing options, and I like that it wasn't kept behind a more expensive deluxe package. It also really helps set this model apart from the other two.
CONS:
- The only con I have with these kits at this point are a majority of the decals included. A great deal with them are very small and can be a challenge to put on for those who are beginners when it comes to Bandai models. Thankfully for me it wasn't much of an issue since I was used to it from building the previous ones. At this point I knew exactly which decals I wanted on to match the others and was able to do it no problem.
While the added details look great when the decals are applied, the main issue I've found with them is that a lot of them do not really stay down, even super tiny ones that should have no problem staying on or don't interact with much of the model. As someone who has built a number of Bandai Gundam models in the past, I find that most of the time the stickers hold on well, except for a lot of the decals on this line specifically. The main offender for this model specifically is the stickers that are applied on the knives, which feature a unique mold specific to this unit. The large silver stickers are meant to wrap around one side, but on one of them it does not stay at all.
Thankfully, the models still look fantastic even if one does not put any decals on the model, so it really comes down to personal preference.
Overall, I would knock part of a star off for the sometimes frustrating stickers, but otherwise it is a perfect model. 4.75/5 stars
