This RETROL HM-01 hit and miss engine comes with genuine components such as an HM-01 hit and miss engine, a stand, a fuel tank, an oil pipe, a CDI igniter, and a spark plug. You can start the HM-01 engine with this starter kit using just one key. However, you will need to provide the batteries and fuel yourself.

Introduction:

The RETROL team has spent four months designing and developing this new Hit & Miss engine model, designated as “HM-01.” This hit and miss engine is crafted from carefully selected, high-quality materials with exquisite craftsmanship to ensure its reliability and durability. The design features a transparent, adjustable flow main oil cup, a new carburetor, and a reverberating exhaust pipe. The two large flywheels are well-weighted, with a spring-loaded ball and split wide face pulley, making the engine very practical for power output. A unique design with a rarely seen “fast and slow gear change” allows the engine to be switched between super slow speed and high speed for power output. This makes the engine more playable and more operational for the user.

Product Technology:

The entire machine’s Ferrari red paint uses an electrophoresis surface treatment process. The main components (body main body, flywheel, connecting rod, etc.) are made of stainless steel 304 casting, with all assembly surfaces finished using CNC and the one-piece crankshaft hardened in high-carbon steel. This makes it not only a playable engine model but also a highly collectible mechanical artwork.

    Kit of parts arrived in 15 days from China, very well packed. Instructions were fair at best. Illustrations were mostly used, but the needed details for carburetor and valve adjustments were lacking and/or confusing. Assembly took about two hours , then another 3 hrs to actually get the engine running after trying many combinations of adjustments. I used pure naptha as the fuel, and the engine seemed to like it. I'd give the fit and finish an 8 out of ten - burrs were present on one side of many of the through holes , as well as excess metal on some of the smaller parts. Also, some of the parts required a little sanding (a small piece of extra fine sand paper was included). I also had to modify the HV wire to make better contact with the spark plug and adjust the points for improved contact. Overall, I'd say a pretty nice model for my first miniature engine build. I'd buy another Retrol again.

    Instructions very good. Pics super clear. 3 hour build. Loved the quality. Top notch model. Highly recommend. Started up easily and ran smooth.
