Product Description

The ultimate secret weapon employed by the Principality of Zeon in the Mobile Suit Gundam TV Anime joins the Real Grade series in honor of GunPla’s 40th anniversary! The Zeong’s distinct legless form draws inspiration from real-world machinery for its intricate details and enables dynamic poses. This kit features chest and back thrusters that open with torso movement, adding to the Zeong’s remarkable mobility.

Additionally, molded joints in the Zeong’s hands allow for detailed finger movements in its powerful Mega-Particle Cannons. These cannons can be connected to included wires, enabling dynamic recreations of the Zeong’s high-powered attacks. Its mono eye moves in conjunction with head rotation and can also be manually adjusted vertically.

This is my 16th RG kit that I have built and I must say I am still amazed with how Bandai continues to make this the event grade every year since ditching the pre-molded inner frame. The gimmicks are solid on the RG Zeong, the articulation for the arms are as good as any other in its grade but the torso engineering and articulation is mindblowing excellent, I would even go so far as to say the torso is better the RG Nu Gundam. The hatches along the skirt section are nicely detailed and highly articulated. I did have 2 small pegs break on me while building mine,, but they weren't really that necessary as there were plenty of pegs to hold the armor onto the frame,, so beware and don't be heavy handed with the building of the skirt armor. The kit as a stand alone release is great enough with the effect parts, but since this is the effect parts version, I gotta talk about it too. The beam effects for the figures are basic but get the job done of feeling like it's firing off mega particle beams from its fingers. The thruster effects are nice, but the larger ones are a little on the fiddly side and can fall off pretty easily. The last shooting display and effect parts are ok for the Zeong, it's a bummer the mouth cannon can't actually hold the beam effect since the beam effect lacks a peg and the mouth lacks the necessary hole (no pun intended...) for a beam effect anyway, so it gives the illusion that it's firing off a beam by have a separate connection attached to the diorama hold the beam. The included accessories for the Gundam are a nice touch and the dedicated holding hand for the Gundam's beam rifle is a welcome addition for the first RG.

Overall, you will not be disappointed with this kit. I highly recommend at least the standard Zeong as it is worthwhile. As for the effect parts version...its a mixed bag. If you need the finger beams and thrusters (like I did) then go for it, as the last shooting parts are even more lackluster. If you just want the Zeong and don't care for beam effects or recreating the last shooting scene all that much get the standard release.

Kit with no legs, haha. Nice action base included. Effect parts are worth the extra money. Have fun if you pick this one up!
